Halleck moved closer, positioning himself carefully, and then stabbed his long sword in gap his armpit left in his armor. The attack did minor damage, but hopefully got the big man's attention.

"Hank, you're pathetic, and this doesn't even seem fair. Come on, I'll give you a free shot." Halleck said, lowering his shield and leaning his head in.

OOC: In Effect:
Diabolic Stratagem
Target: Hank
Effect:
target is marked tent. You grant the target of this attack combat advantage until the start of your next turn. The first attack the target makes against you before the start of your next turn provokes opportunity attacks from you and your allies.

Canon of Avoidance

Current Target:
Quan
Effect: The target gains a +2 power bonus to all defenses until the end of your next turn.
Sustain Minor: The effect persists. When you sustain the effect, you can transfer it to another ally within 10 squares of you.

Stirring Shout
Effect: Until the end of the encounter, whenever an ally hits Hank, that ally regains 5 hit points

[sblock=Note to other Players: Bravura]
Halleck has the Bravura Presence:
When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

Melee characters might also want to save their AP until I hit with Withering Courage, so they can double dip on the +5 damage bonus.

[/sblock][sblock=Halleck's Log]
1. Thorkelson, a bald, tattooed man, entered the hangman's tavern and recruits Halleck and Vimak for a job. Thorkelson, needed some protection at the docks, but apparently had some sinister other motive, since he used drinks from the bar to drug Halleck and Vimak.

2. Wake up in the middle of a fight, being helped by strangers. Give the bandits a beating,

3. Get approached by the bandit leaders, who have two girls that look exactly like that one we want. The real girl is revealed, and natural, a fight breaks out. After we smash the goons, their leader, Hank the Tank comes out.

Rocco punishes ignoring him with vicious chop of his axe.
"I told you not to do that! You cannot bring me down and you cannot harm others while I'm around!"

He then startles as Hank changes to Lerrick, looking quickly to the side to ensure the girl is still there.

Combat Superiority vs Hank AC; damage with vulnerability and bonus from Rune of Mending (1d20+13+3+2+1=39, 1d8.minroll(2)+10+3+2+2=23)
Extra crit damage (1d10=2)
Extra crit 2 (1d10=3)
- total 30

CRIT! on superiority attack! I believe this means Vimak's attack drops Hank. I believe (but am not sure) rune effects are TENT Vimak so it applies even if Rocco already benefited from it on his own turn. If not, reduce damage by two for total of 25

[MENTION=79956]dimsdale[/MENTION], please roll such attacks so we have accurate hp totals. I believe I added the stats

Seeing runepriests weapon finally drop the brute, dwarf advances over the corpse and makes like he's to behead it, but then remembers the child. He lets go of the head which drops unceremoniously into street dust.

"Well, so much for the beast. He would be far more dangerous if he got out with the second wave. Or at least when some were still alive."

"Are you alright, girl?"
Rocco moves close to Lerrick, not looking at her. but all around, scanning for further threats.
"We should go from here. Do you know where the priest we're looking for lives?"

Halleck has a look of disappointment when Rocco drops Hank. He is about to introduce himself, when Rocco reminds the group of their lack of safety. "Let's just get going, and get off the street."

He glances at the fallen bodies looking for loot, but is ready to move with the group.

"Gather around, let's use what healing we have extra to recover from this ordeal.

Primera, stand still, please.

Quan, stand next to me, Raijin, stand next to Primera. Ready?"

She calls healing spirits, spirits of spring's renewal and mountain top freshness. While Quan is the recepient of the spirits good will, Raijin can feel the same wind coming off Primera as his wounds close completely.

"There, everyone, let's get behind that cart and bandage. I'll have Primera offering aid. Rocco, you don't seem wounded, keep guard would you?"

[sblock=Actions]
Minor: Healing spirit on Quan after moving Primera so she's adjacent to Raijin and not to Quan. Quan spends the surge and regains surge +4hp while Raijin regains
Healing spirit extra; Winds last healing bonus (2d6=10, 3d8=8) total of 18 surgeless healing.

Everyone spending second wind adjacent to Primera regains extra 4 hp (surge +4)

As Hank falls to the ground he body changes from Lerrick's form, to Hank's, to a rich nobel, to a cleric, and back to Hank before his body finally lays still. Nementah gathers the party to heal them.
A crowd gathers around the perimeter of the battle grounds, whispering nervously amongst themselves. Bodies of the gang litter the ground. Members of the Daunton militia step forward. One other them, obvious the captain of the guard steps forward. What the hell happened here? It is clear from his tone that he demands an answer quickly.

Lerrick stands up and face the guard. These guys tried to kill me and those guys (motioning to the party) saved me.

The captain pauses for a moment. You're Weinfurter's daughter aren't you!. Turning back to his guards. Stand down! Start clearing up these bodies! Back to Lerrick: I know this man (pointing to Hank). He's been a thorn in my side for months now. Now I know why he was able to for so long. (To the Party) You have my thanks. Feel free to search the bodies and take what you find that may be useful to your task. I know why you take Weinfurter's girl. You may go on your way when you are ready.. Turning back to his guards again. After they are done here we'll put the bodies in this wagon to take away. Citizens of Daunton. Everything is back to order. Go now. Nothing more to see here.

Searching the bodies you find a couple items of use. As the guards stack the bodies on the cart and the crowd goes away, one loan figure stands his ground. Hey Rocco! the dwarf yells. Rocco recognizes him immediately as a member of the red boot gang. I was told to give you this. The dwarf hands Rocco a set of bracers. Whether you know it or not, you and your comrades took care of an arch rival of the red boots. This is the boss's way of say'n thanks. He also told me to tells you that he got some information you have been looking for. He wants you to stop by when you are done with whatever you are doing.

[sblock=treasure]
Found on the mage: Shimmering cloth armor +2 (Raijin)

Found on Hank: Resplendent Circlet (Nementah)

Rocco receives Dual Threat Gauntlets from member of Red Boot Gang.

OOC: I've calculated the xp you have gathered so far from the two encounters and the skill challenge. By my calculations the amount of xp has bumped 5 out of 7 (everyone except Halleck and Quan) up a level. If THB approves this you can go ahead add level your characters. The adventure will continue once everyone has finished doing so.

XP for adventure so far is shown here. So far 4 out of 7 characters in this adventure have received treasure items. This adventure is about half way complete, with muiltiple encounters to go and another skill challenge.

The quicker you update your characters, the quicker we can get moving again...Lerrick's life depends on it.

Skalisss is glad to see justice served with the fall of Hank and his henchmen. Besides, his banter was becoming quite irritating...

Thanking the guardsmen he turns to Larrick and the others. "Well fought. It seemsss Netari smilesss upon usss. Now, where to next?"

[SBLOCK=OOC]Skalisss is leveled up and awaiting judge's approval (which does not gate proceeding).[/SBLOCK]
