[Adventure] The Paper Chase (Judge: renau1g)

OOC: Just FYI for the healer types. If you have the Healing skill, you can use a standard action to give First Aid to an adjacent PC. That PC can use Second Wind without using an action (the helped PC does not get the defense benefit of Second Wind). The Healing check DC is 10. If we could get multiple downed PCs awake, it would be more beneficial to the group if we could get everyone conscious.

Note: You can only do this if the PC has not yet used his Second Wind. Grys has not and I suspect that most of the PCs have not, but I haven't been keeping track.

Move = Shift to C1 as part of a stand action, I'm assuming that MetaVoid's post from yesterday adding movement to the previous round is not going to be retconned one round back, it's one thing to retcon an illegal action, it's another to retcon an action a round backwards in time because someone didn't post it (and it would be nice if Grys actually gets to try something since he was down for 2 rounds, even if he misses).

Well, the way you posted it, you posted it as an action for LAST round, after the DM already posted NPC actions and not as an action for this round.

First, I don't think we should be posting actions retroactively.

Second, if you meant it for this round, then you also have to post the rest of your actions with it (including any readied actions) right away. The concept of posting some of your actions and waiting for other players to post doesn't work in PBP (it doesn't work in a table game either).

So, I'm asking Antithetist for a DM ruling that you did not either a) retroactively post it after the NPC actions for last round, or b) post only some of your actions for this round.

The last two rounds took 10 days as it is. If we constantly retcon things, it takes even longer. I personally think that we should almost never retcon things, only in the case that an action is illegal. There probably should be an LEB proposal for that. Retcon slows things up too much and makes things too confusing.

GM: I accepted the change to Orsik's actions for last round because in this instance it didn't hold anything up or cause any difficulties. I take that kind of thing on a case by case basis.

The slow posting is a separate issue, which I take some responsibility for - I haven't been as proactive as I should have been in chivvying non-posting players along or NPCing their characters where necessary.

Potentially, Orsik could just shift to C0 after his attack - he has a spare move action - and allow Grys to get off his Burst 1 attack. Or if you'd prefer to change your action, KD, that's fine too. Would be nice to get an update done this evening, so let me know ASAP.
 

I can shift, but that leaves the protection of his adjacency limited to only grys. I'd rather not do it, especially because KarinsDad posted after DM clearly approved of the move. That said, if that is something that will keep the tempers down, consider it done.

As for slow posting, I accept full blame, I should have announced it instead on relying on various unstable network accesses while on board.

I haven't actually gotten to play for the last 10 days, so yes, I am a tiny bit frustrated that a player would even ask the DM to retcon an action for a previous round and that the DM would actually say yes.

But, Antithetist made his ruling, so we move on.
