So, never seen the Adventure Zone. Any thoughts on it? (Wondering if it's worth watching if I want to see how BitD works).

TAZ was one of the earliest podcasts to come out during the big actual play boom - it came out like a month after 5e.

The first season is fondly regarded, but also they did not follow the rules of dnd 5e very closely. The second season uses Monster of the Week and is nice. The third season closely follows 5e and is widely hated; the fourth also follows 5e but is less hated.

If you don't already like the McElroys, you may not get much out of it. If your goal is to learn how to play Blades, I recommend watching some actual plays by John Harper himself, the author - they're pretty snazzy.
