Adventures for a new DM

Well after reading your posts and some reviews, it seems she's going to try her hand at Nemoren's Vault. Unless she changes her mind...;)

Thanks for the comments and the advice.

Guillaume

I would certainly have seconded your gut feeling of "Death in Freeport". It seems to me that it's a nice module to start GMing on : not too many combats, interesting role-playing and well fleshed out NPCs.

Hope she has fun !

I forgot about the Freeport series, those would be very good as well. There are some fun aspects for running/planning and a diverse experience to boot. It was the first 3E module I ran and it worked out great.

She did change her mind !

Well, after reading all your posts and a few reviews, Julie did change her mind... sort of. :) We ordered both Death in Freeport (the French version from Asmodée/Siroz) and Nemoren's Vault.

She's interested in the Vault, since it was recommended by a few of you including the notorious PC, because the plot seems relatively simple and linear. She doesn't feel up to having to deal with very convoluted plots.

She's also interested in the Freeport series for its setting (she would love to run a Swashbuckling Adventure campaign once she has a few games under her belt). She's also intrigued by the comments that it has a little bit of everything.

Anyway, both were ordered from Le Valet d'Coeur yesterday. We should get them for the week-end or next week at the latest. She'll have a look at both modules and I'll give you a heads up on which one she chooses.

Thanks again,

Guillaume
