Lets see, looking at the different roleplaying systems on the shelf here: Alternity - Worried about how the heck I'm going to get rid of that mortal I took in the fight against those undead. Ask another player OOC what creature from the Gamemaster's Guide the GM reflavored to make undead constructs. Think it's broken that the DM is using FX rules and we don't get to. Sigh, check how much Quantum Rifle ammo I have left, put a fresh Trauma Pack II into my ER slot and wonder if I should get my Tracer Grenade out. Star Wars - Get into a long argument about whether a Jedi using the force to push undead is the same thing as turn undead. Argument about whether Jedi are LN or LG. Argue until the Wookie player just throws the droid into the room since he's useless anyway. Question whether the DM just grabbed the wrong d20 book before he came over... Call of Cthulhu - The nervous twitch I got when something pulled Franky the Tooth through the wall starts up again. I wish I had a glass of whisky. The negro, Tomus, is gripping the rusty sword he found not long after we got trapped in this place, and there's been a crazed look in his eyes since he chopped that last abomination in half that has me worried. Sammy, still in her Flapper getup, is crying again and it's putting my nerves on edge and I wonder if I should just use my last three bullets on us... DnD 3.5E - Have lengthy discussion about whether we should buff up before going in there. Have the rogue check for traps. Wizard casts detect magic. One player secretly opens the DMG on his laptop and starts looking through the traps section to guess what's up with this room as the wizard flips through spells. The halfling rogue finally gets bored and says, "F**k it, I go it and sit on the throne, what happens?" DnD 4E - Wish we hadn't used up our action points in that last fight. Cleric starts reading his turn undead power again. The wizard's only got two healing surges left, but as long as we keep him in the center, we can probably do this fight, blow our dallies, and get the heck out. The party enters the room, paladin in front since he has the most healing surges left. d20 Modern - I'm wishing the GM hadn't talked me out of making that ex-special forces character. Carl, the plumber, heavy wrench in hand, turns to me and says, "you're in charge, what do we do now?" Stefen Dobbs, the renowned lawyer and official pain-in-the-ass adjusts his glasses and says, "why is he the leader, who put him in charge?" His player tells everyone OOC that he's got a couple levels in Dedicated so he should be the leader. DJ Malcom walks by with that tetanus-inducing greatsword, popped collar, and frat-boy hair cut, points at the throne, giggles and says, "heh, bone." Shadowrun - The Troll with maxxed BOD and top-of-the line Dermal Plating walks in fearlessly since he hasn't taken any damage yet this game. The Hacker whines again about there being no Matrix to access down here while the Adept says he's using Astral Projection still, asks if he sees anything yet, and sends his conjured spirit in with the Troll. Exalted, 1st edition - The Zenith Caste calls out a prayer to the Unconquered Sun while the Night Caste activates Mental Invisibilty Technique and sneaks into the room. The Dawn Caste spends a mote to flare his anima and roars "show yourselves, Abyssal scum! We've crushed your undead abominations and now we'll smite you and cleanse your Shadowland. Show yourselves!" Exalted, 2nd edition - The Zenith Caste in Super Heavy Orichalicum Plate activates his anima, activates a defense charm, and walks into the room. Everyone else watches for a super-powerful Abyssal to show up, otherwise the Zenith will eventually just kill everything since he's practically immune to damage. GURPS - Sir Timothy staggers along, cluching the stump of his severed arm. Lady Aria peers into the room, worried. Roderic the Black inspects his wounds, wondering how long until they start to fester. Steven of Ulba's player makes another joke about digging through the floor, since they have rules for that. Meanwhile, the GM flips back and forth through the rule book, using four fingers as bookmarks, and says, "Just another minute guys, I think I've almost found the rule I'm looking for. How long did I say it was since Roderic took those wounds again?" Dark Heresy - "By the Emperor's Holy name, is there no end to these catacombs?" the Cleric said. He pointed his chainsword at the throne. "Is this another Necron trap laid for us?" The Scum glanced from his autopistol and monosword to the cleric's Storm Bolter and Chainsword and sighed. The Guardsman swung his Heavy Bolter to cover the passageway behind him. "By the Emperor, I hope not. It took nearly everything we had to destroy the last one and we still lost the Assassin." "Well, I could always use one of my-" the Psyker began before being drowned out in a chorus of "NO!" Vampire, the Masquerade - The Storyteller sighs again. "So, you draw your sword again. "There's something not quite right about this place," the Nosferatu said, his hideous face contorting as he squinted about the room. "It comes in blood, wailing like a storm - beware those that walk beyond our ken!" the Malkavian cried. "Can I diablerize him now?" the Assamite said, again. Wow, didn't realize we'd played so many different systems until I did this. We also have a few White Wolf ones that I haven't played yet(Demon, Hunter). Thanks for the thread, entertaining reads, fun to write! Edit: Grammars!
