Any player who thinks hit points don't matter will soon be rolling up a new character.

However, you don't say if there are good role-playing reasons for any of your players to have a low CON score. Not that the reason for low hit points has any effect on survivability, but it might be a good excuse.

Well, strength is more important than constitution for melee types. Con is probably the second most important, or at least it should never be the dump stat.

With high STR you can end fights more quickly and end up needing less hp. IMHO, YMMV..

The problem with low hp players is that when they keel over, you have to find a place to put the body... and they call it "theft" and "murder" when all you're really doing is looting the body. It's SO much easier when it's the Player Characters that have low hit points. Honestly, you have no idea.

Whack them. Seriously, just play normally and let him live and let die. Maybe he's on to something and he's found some slick trick that makes this a worthwhile gamble - Don't go after him specifically. Just let him suffer the consequences, good and bad, for his priorities.

Piratecat: Heh!

This reminds me of a letter to the editor in a realllllly old Dragon magazine. In it, the letter writer asked how to handle a situation in which one of his players wanted to become pregnant. Dragon magazine replied, "We assume you wanted advice on player characters becoming pregnant. Advice on players becoming pregnant is beyond the scope of this magazine."

I agree, let the character die if that is what the dice determine, but don't go after him with your monsters without a good reason.

Have one of their enemies wield a Wounding blade. When they see what happens after losing 4 or 5 points of CON, they'll reconsider its usefulness.
