Advice on a semi diceless game

Hi,

A bit of background first:

Im in a 3.5 game that is a homebrew game. Im playing a Dwarf Druid, we have a Fox Spirit (OE) Rogue, Gnome Bard, Half Orc Warbale and 'Human' Sorc. We also have a player who has been through 2 characters and is now on the 3rd (Awakened Cat - Warlock, Strange Races of the wild race Cleric) . Human Warlock.

Something has changed however in the game. We now have an alternate 'dreaming character' who can be be either 'tech' (which includes psionics AND more importantly at PL 8.. which means D20 modern and 3.5 are combining in a weird hybrid) or magic (which includes races with spellike ability or anyone who casts a spell basically). The Dm has wanted a mix of both sides.

Im in a quandry. Generally Ive enjoyed this particular dms games. We can go sessions without combat and as a rule I do tend to notice a lot of rogues or spellcasters in her games as warrior types tend to stand on their feet not doing much. So yeah Id definetly say the game is combat light.

Id like to play a warrior type on the tech side so Ive used SSpecies to create a Troll who has cyberware and uses guns (okay so I went to bizarre land first up)

My issue is, does it seem like Im playing the wrong character for such a game? Im sensing combat might be avoided a lot with hand wavium and other similar actions.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

If you're playing a combat-centric PC in a combat light campaign who nonetheless can contribute to the game via your RP or the character's skills/powers/feats, you should be fine.

If you're playing a combat-centric PC in a combat light campaign who CANNOT contribute to the game, then yes, you are probably playing the wrong character.
