Advice on Ur-Priests

Huw

First Post
I'm DMing a new adventure soon, and one player wants to be an ur-priest. The alignment and concept aren't a problem, providing that the rest of the party are happy with his choice, but I am concerned about power.

While I appreciate that at mid levels the ur-priest's magic overtakes conventional casters, this adventure is unlikely to get much higher than 8th level. Can anyone see a problem with this character?

Thanks for any feedback.

The best he can achieve with Complete Divine version of the class is Something 5/Ur-Priest 3, which gives him 3rd level Ur-Priest spells. That's fine, really.

I agree with this.

If you only go to 8th level no problem at all. Teh real cheese with Ur-Priest is going Wizard 5/Ur priest 2/Mystic Theurge 10 or some such. Taht is cheesy.

He's starting as a duskblade. I wouldn't that sort of combo past him :uhoh:

Anyway, sounds like to 8th level should be fine.
