Advice sought: PDF Editor software

I downloaded the free trial version of JAWS PDF Editor and played with it during the evaluation period, and now I'm hooked. (Imagine extracting only the pages you want from 15 or 20 different sourcebooks to a single PDF!) I'm considering coughing up the cash to purchase the software, but before I commit, I wanted to find out if there is a free PDF Editor available. Any advice? Thanks!

I suspect there is no such thing. I believe (though I'm not positive) that editing PDFs is the thing that Adobe is very careful about licensing. That is, they want you to buy the full Adobe Acrobat, or a product whose creator has paid them for the appropriate license.

On the other hand, you can always just copy and paste the text into a Word document or whatever. You lose layout and art, but you keep the fonts and it can still be a good way to consolidate your sources.

Only one of these is an editor. Sure, you can create the same document from a source over and over again, but I don't know how time-effective that would be.
