I meant the hunt for Al-Qaeda operatives has refocused on Pakistan and other countries, including the USA and Europe. Of course we will continue to monitor Afghanistan--it would be stupid not to, but the global threat that nation posed has been reduced, if not destroyed. I don't see us changing our Middle East policies to be more thoughtful and far-seeing, unfortunately.
