Last night I watched "Amina" on Netflix - about the rise of the Warrior Queen of Zazzau (largest of the Seven Kingdoms of Hausa land), it had prophecy, warrior champions, subtle magic and court intrigue - I enjoyed it and could see how it could work as a campaign.
Anyway three of the Hausa kingdoms were eventually attacked by Songhai and the rest forced to pay tribute.
