You will see FREE: D&D Alumni N1

Could that be a 4E version of this?

Could be interesting, given all the recent nostalgia trends.

I sure hope so.

As an aside- if WOTC was to start offering a converted classic module each month through the (pay) DDI site- it would be a sure fire way to get me to sub up again. Even if they were not exact and tweaked to be more 4E friendly (like Village of Hommlet), I'd be all over this like a fly on horsecrap.

I have a hard time believing that we'll see a complete conversion of "Against the Cult of the Reptile God", or any other old-school module, for that matter. That's a lot of content. Free content tends to be smaller in scope.

Maybe just a conversion guide or some pieces of the old-school mod converted to 4E.

We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

Don't get your hopes up.

The Alumni articles have always been history articles about a particular element (the knight, Dark Sun, etc) and found in Dragon (not Dungeon). The likelihood of the Alumni article having a 4e conversion is pretty slim.

Typically the "Free:" only refers to the Alumni articles not being behind the pay wall. But maybe the skeptic in me is wrong. It's be cool if it was.

Hhhmmm...

I don't buy DDI because two of our best players have DDI (which licenses us for 10 puters) and I roll all our adventures myself.

If WotC was to publish classic material revamped for 4e once a month in DDI I'd definately subscribe :D

NOOOOO!

Ones again: the paying user can have the stuff on 5 of his/her computers.
The contract doesn't allow sharing. Do as you want in your campaign, but don't advertise illegal stuff.

I think it's pretty unlikely that we'll get a 4th ed version of N1. Alumni articles generally don't go into too much conversion detail. I remember that Bargle was converted back around the time 4e was released, but for the most part these are just discussions about history and design concepts. The Cavalier was relevant because it's being re-released in HFK, not sure why they're bringing up Cult of the Reptile God.

Even if there were such a conversion the work involved would likely divert it to being put in a product or developed as a reward for one of the public venue programs. I can't see Wizards taking the time to convert such a large adventure and simply giving it away (as decent as that'd be.)
