D&D 4E Against the Giants 4e part 2 is up!

I like his addition to the series.

I'm totally stealing the layout and maps for my heroic tier game (obviously I'll have to replace the monsters & traps). My premise is different, so I won't be using that part, but I do like how he worked this arc into the original story.

I think it would be very useful if they took series like this and packaged them by themselves. So the entire Scales of War adventures in one place/PDf, the Against the Giants in one PDF/place; there's a few adventures in Dungeon which are 3 parters, and it would just make it simpler to organize them that way.

The maps seem rather cramped, given how many large creatures will be in what are fairly small (tactically - they are probably realistically proportioned given the size of the creatures involved) rooms.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially with the number of Artillery monsters in the module. And it will certainly feel very different from the Hill Giant one, which for the most part had more more open areas. I'm just concerned that it might feel a bit repititious having the bulk of the encounters be so cramped.

It's probably in the spirit of a lot of the older edition modules, as from what I've read, many of them tended to be more heavy on choke points. Also, just from my cursory glance at the combat encounters in this module, there are relatively few creatures involved, so the tight quarters may not matter as much.

One part of the blurb kinda got to me
The series pitted characters against hill giants, frost giants, and fire giants, but stone giants got the short end of the stick
Because Stone Giants were not typically raiding and slaving douche-bags!

That said, I like the art on the paywall page and would love to see the larger version. He has a nice "I'm not happy you are here" look rather than the overused "Yay, murder time!" look that adorns so many opponent's illos, like they were awaiting the PC's arrival with deep blood thirst.

I'm really digging this module. Some of the encounters are very unusual and quite devious in their use of the 4E rules...Chris Perkins is very good at writing these types of modules up.

The very first encounter had me chuckling evilly on some of the things I can unleash on my characters.

I'm having an absolute blast running Steading of the Hill Giant Chief (and so are my players), and I certainly plan on following this up with Warrens.

There is no way to actually buy this. Right? I have to subscribe to Dungeon in order to get it.
I've been away of the whole 4e scene for a long while but this got me interested...
