Age of Conan. Anyone played it?

Just read on a gaming news site that Funcom is in the process of merging the servers from the original 49 down to 18. That can't be a good sign. :erm:

The game sold ~800k at launch. They had a lot of servers already and added more to handle the load when it was doing so well at release. These days they have ~200k active subscribers. Players are spread way too thin across the servers.

Please don't buy a new hard drive *just* to play Age of Conan. You'll make me cry! QQ

Oh, it wouldn't just be for Conan. There are several Windows-based games I've wanted to play where Hard Drive size is an issue. But Bootcamp limits you to 30 GB (as far as I know), so an external drive might be my only recourse.

Really? It would only let me set mine for a max of 30. I think it has to do with whether you're using FAT 32. I was, and that seems to ahve been the issue, but I didn't feel confident about using the other method. I suppose I could redo it, but that would involve reinstalling a bunch of stuff. Not worth it at this point, but thanks.

Well, in the virtue out of necessity file, I had to get a new hard drive for my mac, and repartitioned it to run windows last night, and was able to get much more room! So, now I think I may load up AoC and see how it plays.

The intro (first 20 levels) in AoC is awesome, but I didn't like the game enough to keep playing it. :)

I'm currently waiting for the "KoToR" MMO... Go, Bioware!

Bye
Thanee

Yes, I'm looking forward to that too. The problem is I really need an MMORPG that doesn't feel like one. I usually lose interest fairly quickly.
