You might also consider requiring the check to beat SR must fail by a cetain amount. Say 5 or 10. That'd make the feat somewhat useful but nowhere as extreme as it is now.

That'sw what I was going to say. Make it have to fail by 10 or more to have it reflected back.

In my campaign we have gotten rid of a lot of "absolutes". Instead we offer +10 or +20 and use open-ended rolls. So an elf CAN be affected by a sleep spell, byt he would get +10 or +20 to his roll. It makes the outcome the same most of the time but we just don't like absolutes. I guess its too many years of playing Role-master.
