Akashic Record Update

Chacal

First Post
Since there seem to be quite a few Arcana Evolved fans here, here is an update thread for the Akashic Record.

--------------

We did some significant update on the Akashic Record, all of which can be accessed via the Arcana Evolved Portal :

New Compilations:
Let us know if we missed something (or even better, add it yourself on the wiki, it's here for that)

New Tools:
  • There is a fully-linked Map of the Diamond Throne (of course you have to add content to the places now;))
  • The new "Create Page" Button allows you to select templates for creating your new page (There will be some documentation on how to add your own templates to the list) It's on the Top-Left of every page below the search Button.
  • A simple Object Loresight Generator which takes its information from lists on the wiki (so you can edit the lists if you want, not all of them are done)
  • the wiki can now do random name generation. You just write {{FemaleFaenName}} to get a female faen e.g.

New pages in the AE SRD
- Armors

What's Next ?

-Using editable NPC lists in the Object Loresight Generator

What do YOU want to see in the Akashic record ?

Fixed. Thanks for spotting it.
Any suggestion about the wiki, by the way ?
Needs a lot of editing.

"Effect"/"affect" conflation, no specification of uses per day, indiscriminate and oft inappropriate application of (Su)/(Sp), overuse of [Force] damage, and there's a lot of redundant phrasing.

The power levels may be okay; I didn't look long enough to do an in-depth analysis of that.

Editing is a thankless job. I hope you guys get a good one and treat him nicely. :)

Cheers, -- N

Thankfully it's a wiki so everyone can do that :)

"Effect"/"affect" conflation,
do you have some pointers on pages guilty of this?

I'm not well versed in the rules so I couldn't tell. Most pages about classes come from the OYT forums or the previous ae wiki. Almost no editing was done beyond simple wiki formatting. Unless the author put a "watermark" on the page, everyone can edit it.
Everyone can also comment the pages using the talk page (maybe the little icon for the talk page is neither very visible nor explicit).

One of the supposed bonuses of a wiki is that you have plenty of editors. We just need to find a handful of compulsive editors...

P.S: Did the subliminal message "you can edit too" work?

"Did ... work", not "worked"
Thanks. Maybe this time this rule will stick a little longer in my head.
-- and no. Not when every page I looked at had a by-line.
Fair enough.
The lists of links and classes seemed to be the most popular content. But having credits on each page is not a good incentive to edit.
