ALCHEMIST in Resa & Kiel article

Ok, so I think I just found another new class: the Alchemist.

It is referenced in the Resa part of the article with the following:

Only two possibilities work well for Rasa’s concept:
alchemist and shaman. Alchemists are tempting both
due to their ability to keep the party going after one
character runs out of healing surges and also because
of the way they provide so many flexible abilities.

So, considering that the concept of the article is "primal" characters that the Alchemist is a Primal Leader and will accompany the Seeker in PHB3. Whatya think?

The general consensus is that the author of that article meant "artificer" when he wrote "alchemist" and the editors did not catch it. The way the class is described, it certainly sounds like the artificer.

Doesn't make any sense though - the entire article is about PRIMAL characters based off of Primal Power...

I'm not sure why he went down that route (other than a consideration of mechanics), but a primal alchemist doesn't make much sense either given alchemy's association with the arcane.

Depends really on how you conceptualize "primal" energies and its connections. Hell, the "Seeker" when described as a "ranged controller with a bow" sure doesn't sound "primal" either. :D

... he described a leader with the Artificer's primary distinguishing class feature, and a power "theme" that matches with the Artificer's actual powers. It's the Artificer.
