I have used these markers for years and have been delighted with their versatility and ease of use. Simply place a marker under your token or miniature to show who is hurt, flying , buffed, stunned… Now with 4E the idea of bloodied and the various marked conditions make these incredibly useful. They are also dry and wet erasable so we can number creatures and write ad-hoc conditions for whatever we need.
Recently the folks at Alea Tools corrected the one problem they had with their original product – that being the strength of the markers when used in close-quarters. They have changed out the original magnets with smaller more powerful rare earth magnets that still provide great sticking power but do not have the side to side problems of the original.
I got to try some of these markers and they are fantastic. You can put twenty of these things in a four-square area and have no problems.
They have also expanded their line to include 2-inch markers in matching colors to the one-inch pieces. This works great when marking the larger creatures on the board.
Alea Tools is now offering the new magnets at their original prices and offering a discount on the original pieces while they last. They even are offering conversion kits to fix your existing magnets if you want to go that route.
Great stuff.
