Something that I don't recall being discussed previously in this thread is how the parental vibe they gave Kirsh and Dame Sylvia (Essie Davis!). I mean, at the very beginning, I thought briefly that they were Marcie's parents. But then it occurred to me that they are very much Wendy's (and the other hybrids') parents. Sylvia is human, Kirsh is synthetic, and their 'offspring' are a mix.

I had completely missed the renewal announcement and was worried it was not moving forward despite its ratings. (am I misremembering or was there an inordinate delay in the decision to renew the show?) This is great news!

I think there was a bit of a lag, which surprised me as well. FX is very much in the Noah Hawley business, so even if this wasn't a big hit (and it appears to have been), I don't think they want him taking Fargo and going elsewhere with it.
