Campaign Options: Alignment is a PDF that has been in the works for over a year now and has been perhaps one of the most difficult things that I've ever tried to work on. And so, while I am able to transfer the thoughts on this difficult topic into words, I am looking for additional writers to provide additional insight/opinions/topics to expand this project into more than a single designer's ideas.
The purpose of Campaign Options: Alignment is to take apart the overly simplified page-and-a-half description of the nine alignments and put them back together using more detail. This is designed for two purposes: first, to provide better information to answer questions such as "Can I do that with this alignment?"; second, the expand the role of alignment as a universal force in the D&D game, beyond just morality and guidelines. However, with the numerous alignment threads that have appeared throughout EN World, it is quite obvious that the ideas and thoughts may be too single-minded. The goal is to provide possibilities into an extended alignment system, rather than provide an absolute version, but I do feel that this project will benefit from extra insights.
Each additional author will be required to complete a certain amount of additional material (mainly in the form of sidebars) for each chapter and section of the PDF. Authors will be chosen for their viewpoints on alignments, as the main goal is to provide further options on this expansion than those created by the core author, myself. As it stands, each additional author will be offered 10% of all final sales for the project with a maximum of 4 additional authors brought on board. Input on the core material is also appreciated to improve the product. All additional authors will be given front page credit on the PDF and will be listed in alphabetical order.
Interested parties are asked to submit a 500 word essay on any particular aspect of alignment or to provide a link to any thread/website/other publication in which a sample of your viewpoint was posted.
If you are interested or have any further questions on this open call, please don't hesitate to contact me at warden@emeraldpress.net[/email]]warden@emeraldpress.net. You can also read some details on the Campaign Options: Alignment project here.
