perhaps you should check out Team America if you really want to get a handle on the sublime, subtle wisdom being referenced.

It's highly likely you'll either love it or loathe it.
I've yet to meet anyone who didn't fall into one of those two camps. Its an extreme kind of film.

Me, I loved it.

My wife thinks its the worst film ever made, bar none (even though she loved the Southpark Movie). One of my closest friends, who is very similar to me in outlook and tastes, walked out after 10 minutes.

Don't ever watch this film on someone else's recommendation, because there's a 50% chance it will be one of the worst experiences of your life! Watch it because you genuinely want to see what the fuss is about.

I have seen the movie from Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

But there is a lot of things I do not understand. A lot of americanisms I suspect that are beyond my own grasp.

But I found parts of it to be funny.

I did find the two dolls going at it, rather amusing; rather taunting of censorship but then again, it was banned in my country to begin with.

So in summation: Adventurers are Yang, NPCs are Yin, Bad Guys are Evil.

The problem with Paladins is no one can agree on whether they are Yin or Yang. And If I didn't have to be Grandma friendly, I so would have titled this thread: "Paladins: [yangs] or [yins]?"
Nice way to put it :). I personally relate more to the "yin" paladin of mercy and redemption, but I think the "yang" paladin of justice and wrath should also be a viable concept. Of course, the ideal paladin should have elements of both "yin" and "yang" ;), offering mercy to the repenant and serving justice on the unrepentant. He should also be able to read the DM's mind so he can know which is which :p.

A good sense of sarcasim is essential, if you take the film seriously you'll just be offended. I loved it, though i've allways wonderd how they manage to take the piss out of so many people without being sued into the ground.

I'm simply amazed that nobody has come in here and gotten this thread shut down. Nice work, ENWorld.

(And yes, TA is one of my all-time favorite comedies)

"Heironeus, **** Yeah!"

My bad, apologies.

I don't know about Erics Grandma.
The idea is this: pretend like there's a sweet old lady whom you respect very much, say, your grandmother, sitting in the room while we're having this conversation. Don't say anything that would offend her traditional sensibilities. :)

Or put another way: more Mad TV, less South Park. :)

Tangent: "Eric" is Eric Noah, the E.N. of ENWorld,
and his grandma is the closest that the site comes to having a censorship policy.

Thus, to be family friendly, and not say offensive (due to shock value!) things is to be keeping Eric's Grandma in mind while posting.

That cuts down on half the ill-thought-out posts right there!

And now you know. :-}
