Alistra Karnom - Kinrisar Campaign

Nodding his head respectfully to the men before him, Liac kept his study of each as subtle as he could, although there was little subtlty a Half-ogre in any occassion. All were shorter - save the half-ogre-, but that was expected. Even in the Northlands he was a tall man. They were a little younger than himself; except perhaps the orge. It was difficult to tell the age of a creature/man who's race you rarely saw. One a mere boy. They all looked weary from travel or perhaps battle - hard to tell which. He saw something in their eyes - battle then. Men only had that look if they'd been in combat and killed to survive.

He kept his news to himself a moment, debating whether to ask for a moment alone with her or not, but when handed the copy of manuscript the academic inside his armor peeked out and allowed for a short distraction.

Draconic - definitely. Liac thought of his occasional correspondence with Bindar, an old friend. "I am interested in it, mylady - even if I do not yet speak it well. Draconic -" His eyes scanned the pages. Journal entries until the pictures. "This is...a medical manual?"

He cocked his head to examine the detailed drawings of a forearm and hand. A comparison between kobold and human anatomy made for shoulder, arm and hand. "Comparative biology? I've seen similar texts dealing with human and elven bodies, but... What dealings have you with kobolds?"

"These drawings were made by a kobold sorceror who had captured a patrol of men from Crolon. We were sent to find them... unfortunatly only Bindar and one other man were still alive when we found them and defeated the kobolds. The kobold butcher who was doing this escaped into the jungle and we recovered these scrolls. Since then lady Karnom has had her scribes working on a translation. Now we know what the kobold was doing, but we still don't know why. There is also the matter of the man who gave the location of the patrol in Bibbaya." The bard says to the newcomer.

"If ya didn't quite get ah hold o' all o' that... weah been killin em. Azeem is a bit a long winded on most ahcasions. Nasty buggers they be and they got what waz comin too em."

Alistra looks at each of you, "I suppose that our next move should be to notify the militia so that they can investigate this?"

"The captain of the militia, the mayor, the church of whatever... everyone at the top I suppose. Let them figure out what they need to do"

Azeem Razuddi

"If you think it wise. Though if this person was able to hear of the patrol routes he may be able to catch word about his being wanted and slip off before being caught. But I think it is worth the risk to get the militia informed about him and ,of course,of the Kobold." Azeem says after thinking it over.

You cannot help but to notice a fleeting look of disappointment on Alistra's face after Ezieer and Azeem acquiesce to notifying the militia. She quickly gains composure and continues, "You have hit upon my concern, Azeem. If this person can find out the route my son's patrol was to take why would they not be able to discover that the militia is now looking for him? It would be a great shame to allow this person to escape justice for the treason they have performed."

Azeem Razuddi

"Indeed. Well we could always go there ourselves and look for him. We aren't all that well known yet and I doubt we could be recognized by this man yet. We would have to be careful when we find him not to make him nervous about us so finesse will be required." He says to Alistra after considering her fears.

Then looks to Ezieer "You remember what happened with the pirates of course. I doubt this man will have quite as much backup as they did, but we still must be careful about how we find and follow him lest we ourselves get into trouble with the militia."

And finally turns back to Alistra "If we take on the finding of this man and it comes to violence, which I hope it does not as he sounds like a cowardly sort, is there any way we will be able to prove to the milita we are in the right? They are not very fond of vigilantees so perhaps a letter from someone official would be a good idea, just in case."

Alistra considers Azeem's points. She nods several times during his discussion as if to agree with or acknowledge the points being made. She takes a sip from her cup of wine and cosiders carefully her response.

"You and your compatriots have brought my son back from a sure death at the hands of that kobold mage. For that I would give you any support that I can. You have also pointed out the ill will held by the militia on vigilantees, which they hold for good reason."

She turns to walk away from you and consider a painting of a seascape with two ships weathering a storm. She then turns, "I want this man. If he gave the information to this creature then I want him. I am afraid that I will have little to offer you with the militia if things run afoul of them however. We do have this journal and I do hold some influence in this city. Those two things will certainly work to our advantage."

She slowly walks up to Azeem. "Find this man and bring him to me with evidence of what he has done. Do this and he will be very happy to be turned over to the militia."

Azeem is slightly shocked at the last of Alistra's statments but soon regains composure and replies. "I am sure he will be dealt with in a way fit for his crimes milady. We shall do our upmost to make sure he is brought to you and he recieves his punishment." He stands and bows. "With Liac's help we should be able to ensure his well-being. I believe we have a few things to attend to in Crolon, but by tomorrow I think we can be off to Bibbaya." The bard looks back to the others to make sure this is acceptable.
