I used movietickets.com. They sold out of the theater near me in just under a day which I guess is slow compared to other places that sold out in less than an hour.

How did you all get tickets? Fandango.com just says showtimes not yet available.
I went through the same thing on Thursday. What you have to do, and may the Gods curse Fandango for not making this easier to understand, is do a search on the theater itself. If you look up a movie, it'll only give you showtimes for the current day. If you look up a theater, you can look through all the days they are currently selling tickets for.

Not very user-friendly.

Add to it that the Matrix films are rated R and are not widely considered classics unlike, for example, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Star Trek, which have become part of popular culture and are easily accessable.

Way to early to call LotR classic. It may be on par with ST now, but that's only because of how far ST has fallen of late.

I disagree. The books are classics and the movies are close enough to the books for me. I'm sure many LotR fans would agree. Also, a movie's age doesn't always determine if it is a classic. Additionally, it is subjective. ;)

I'm a fan of the book (singular) and I enjoyed the movies well enough, but it's only been two years since FotR came out. It's not a matter of age, but perspective. It's not even complete yet, thus it's to soon to say.

Considering the quality of the first 2 and the fact that they were made at the same time and that they have one of the best stories in history to tell I think it's a safe enough bet that the 3rd will be just as good as the first 2. If this is the case, I would easily consider the LotR movie trilogy a classic. No doubt in my mind.

Now, if these movies were not already classic novels and most people didn't already know what was to come, I would never call 2 out of the 3 movies of a trilogy a classic. This is a large exception.

Well I think the big differences is I'm not willing to rush to such judgements and you're willing to make them a lot sooner then I am (Fireflly being another example).
