[Alluria Publishing] Cerulean Seas Kickstarter Campaign

A bit over a year ago, my small group (Alluria Publishing) began producing a Pathfinder compatible RPG setting called "Cerulean Seas". It is an underwater campaign setting that is extremely detailed with a high production value. So well done, in fact, that we put far too much money into its production and did not make enough back to continue the project despite winning awards and getting EXCELLENT reviews and much acclaim by those that did invest in it. This combined with many unfortunate and unrelated blows to some of the members of our group put us out of commission and into massive debt.

A kickstarter campaign was recently created to get Alluria Publishing back up and running well enough to begin producing products for the Cerulean Seas Campaign Setting again, starting with a few supplements that are already near completion including "Waves of Thought: Undersea Psionics" and "Indigo Ice: Guide to the Arctic Seas."

Originally, our goal was $2000, as this was simply what we needed to break even on our past projects and justify moving forward again. We never realized that our products were so well loved, however, as we reached our initial goal in a mere 2 days. With the remaining 4 weeks we intend to raise enough money to get ourselves in a position where this will not happen again and continue to bring you high quality 3rd party products for years to come. Cost of art, writing, layout, editing, printing, advertisement, and so on adds up VERY quickly. If we can reach our new goal of $10,000, this will ensure that we can hire the best artists, writers, and gaming specialists and really shake up the 3rd party gaming industry, much like we have done in the past by investing our own money.

Good luck with your project, while we felt our Undersea book for 3.0 was good it did not seem to capture the hearts and minds of the GM's and gamers.....

Ahhh good times... The Deep

Hal G My brother was working close with Mystic Eye Games at the time of the Deep's release and Cerulean Seas was being designed simultaneously... Cerulean Seas was actually held back then to avoid competition, as the Deep managed to come out before Cerulean Seas was ready. Thus, Cerulean Seas stayed in the design phase for nearly a decade, being play-tested and honed into the amazing product it is today.

Perhaps Alluria and MEG could work together on future subaqueous endeavors?

Mind you, with 5e on the horizon I'd imagine folks are in a holding pattern, when it comes to the purchase of new products. Add to that the uncertainty regarding an Open Gaming License of any sort for D&D Next.

Still... as I have been running undersea adventures online for nearly 14 years now... I'm in! ;)
