this does not 4bode well.
i 4cast that this will be all too common a problem.

I don't know...I do respect Bruce Cordell for what he did...but the whole sales-pitch that is quted here only makes me want to take a big step aside and let the 4E train rush past me without giving it a glance.
Maybe it's just me, but "Hey, this is the SAME thing you are playing right now, only different enough to sell you everything all over again, more streamlined, sexy, cool and polished, and 50% of the concept is including a medium you're not interested in" simply doesn't entice me at all.
Actually, it's a head-shake to hear somebody associate the word sexy to anything connected to an RPG book/rule.
But as I said...maybe it's just me. :\

EDIT: OK, to be fair, I've finally (6 1/2 hours later!!!) read and seen some of the elements of $E and the DI, and I think they show promise. The virtual tabletop was especially impressive. Then again, MasterTools showed some real promise back in the day....
