Alpha Omega RPG

It seeemd overly complicated. I'll see if I still have the book later today to give some specifics but I'm not sure I kept it.

The webpage and books look downright amazing but the setting looks like an absolute mess: there are angels and demons and half-human hybrids of the former....and sentient animals...and mutants...and cyborgs...and hybrids of all of those....and magic...and machine guns...and psionics...and everybody appears to be fighting for some reason.

It sounds an awful lot like an updated version of Rifts.

In some ways yes, in other ways no. They are both a post apocolyptic setting with many odd things in the world and from elsewhere; but they get to that point in different ways.

Impressive looking product. It seems there have been quite a few of these lately: post-apocalyptic/nearish future SF games with high product values. Amethyst, Eclipse Phase, Alpha Omega, not to mention the newest version of Shadowrun and the Star Wars Saga a few years ago.

I am contemplating picking this up although am worried it veers a little too close to the World of Synnibarr side of things; Rifts is only a step or two away from that, with Shadowrun, Eclipse Phase, and Amethyst in safer territory.
