Alternate Alignment system

I edited my post before you responded, I'm still lacking the "zero-sum" meaning.

Yes, I'm late in the discussion. Yes, I make mistakes. Yes, I'm human. Need a blood sample?

No, it isn't. The fact that you have acknowledged your errors is why it isn't.
I'll accept that.

I said you have made assumptions without all the facts at hand. It has happened several times. All I'm asking is that you avoid making statements like "The heads of WotC's D&D department hasn't changed in 7 years" unless you are sure that's a fact.
I'll keep that in mind. Quid pro quo, don't assume I'm talking about things like the cause of the OGL being the reason for its failure, when all I'm talking about is the contract's wording, or assume that I think when a company loses money that another company is making the money they're losing, or assume that everyone in the conversation has been in the conversation for 8 years.

All 20? Read what I wrote again. I said "it comes out 20 posts later...." indicating that after you make an assumption it take 20 posts back and forth before someone else figures out your assumption. I didn't say you made 20 mistakes.
My bad. I moved the "20" to the wrong part of the statement.

And I say people do come in and make changes without financial reason. I say they make changes just because. I say they make changes so they can say to their boss, "I'm doing something." If you've never seen this in business, I envy you.
You say this, I say that. Agree to disagree, indeed. I've seen it happen, and I've seen those companies crash and burn because of it.

Everyone else just drops out when they find they're wrong in a conversation, so you can't actually say "they said oops".

I think if you hang around for awhile you will find out that people don't drop out around here because they are wrong. Many folks here make their points and don't feel the need to keep repeating their points. Part of the civility on the boards here that I like is the low level of people screaming "yes it is"/"no it isn't" back and forth all day. I along with several other folks fundamentally dissagree with your points and assements and will likely continue too. Just because you get the last word in doesn't mean that we have changed our minds and think you are correct. At least for me I am willing to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Okay, so instead of dropping out because they're wrong, they drop out because they lack evidence and don't feel like pushing it any further. If you'll note in the What is it about the GSL that is really a deal breaker? conversation that I concede amicably when people provide facts. Thus, I don't continue to argue just because I WANT to be right. I continue to argue because I'm arguing with someone who has either weaker or no better claim than I do. When I find my claim too weak to gain ground, I either look for evidence to strengthen it, or I openly concede the point. If a person isn't willing to prove their point to completion, then there's no point to be in the conversation in the first place.

Such conversations are also a means for people in the conversation to learn things from each other. Questions are asked and answered that wouldn't normally be asked in casual research. If everyone that has the facts backs out of the conversation before it's done because they don't feel like proving their point, then ignorance is what remains.
