[QUOTE="Papewaio of The Org, post: 3045087, member: 35704"] Is there a decent way of creating a caster level system that is modular much like BAB. As it is you Base attack stacks independent of which class you get the extra level from. Do you think it would be plausible to stack caster levels? IMDHO I think Divine the number of spells per day, and Arcane another pool. The main point is each time you get a level you get x points to each of your magic pools. Much like BAB these stack, so a Paladins Divine levels would add to a Cleric. Now a Paladin isn't a great spellcaster and at 20th is about the equivalent of a 8th level cleric in number of spells per day. So a Paladin would have add say 1 Divine level per 3 levels of Paladin. A multi-classed 9th Paladin/11th Cleric would a Divine Level Pool of 14, so would cast spells in the same quantity of a 14th level Cleric. The other way would be to give each level of Cleric 3 divine points, Paladin 1... then crossreference to another table to see the number of spells per day. This has overhead to it, but you could figure out the cost of powers per day into the system (Druid wildshape costing x points) and possibly using feats to add points back into the system (Feat Divine 1, adds 1 point to the effective caster level). Basically do you think there is a more modular way the caster levels can be achieved that is inline with the IMDHO very good improvement that BAB is above THAC0... considering that they way current numbers of spells per day is as dated as THAC0 too.
