Alternate Method of Calculating Hit Points

The idea is the race replaces the Constitution score with regard to starting hit points.

I got all that. I was just trying to point out that if Constitution (score or modifier) is then included in the equation at higher levels, it's not gonna help the OP's goal, which is to reduce hit points at those higher levels

I am on board with higher levels lacking a Constitution bonus.

At the same time, I see a direct correlation between Constitution, hit points, and size, hence race. Especially at first level during character creation.
 

. Since I haven't played in a 13th Age game, I don't know what else is in the rules systems that helps players feel their characters don't need hundreds of HP to live at higher levels.
There's a rally mechanic, and there aren't much in the line of multi-attacking. Also, 13A is pegged to a 4-encounter day.
