Alternate Paladins (Dungeon 310)

No, the ones in Unearthed Arcana are different. UA only covers the four corner alignments, and none of them have Turn Outsider or Turn Construct.

Ah, must just be the alternate Paladin feature Turn Outsider that I'm thinking of. So exactly how different are the PrC's in Dragon from UA?

Didn't know that they'd been reprinted in UA (which I don't have). Could you expand on the "censure" mechanic?

For censure outsider, you have to look in the Complete Warrior, the Knights of the Chalice PrC IIRC.

The paladins of other alignments were in #310 special update series #1 of 3 August 2003. There were the paladin LG, Sentinel NG, Avenger CG, Enforcer LN, Icarnate N, and the Anafch CN. also the other 2 dragon Magazine in the series are good to the 3rd one in the series has the Evil couner parts to the holy warriors above the Despot LE, the Corrupter, and the Anti-paladin CE. All three magazines are good and have many other usefull stuff in them.

Thanks. That's another book I haven't got around to buying yet. Does it differ radically from the censure demon mechanic as presented for 3.0 in DoF? (I'd forgotten that was in there when you mentioned it before.) I must admit I quite like the idea of the target being stunned rather than the traditional effects of turning. Might well try that.

It's intersting that UA has paladins for the four "corner" alignments - I guess it's consistent with the traditional LG paladin. Personally, I was thinking of having paladins for the four "cardinal" alignments - i.e. Paladins of Good, Paladins of Law, Paladins of Evil and Paladins of Chaos. Somehow I find the notion of a paladin being attracted to a single "pure" element of alignment more appealing.

Rather than the Dragon magazine write-ups however, I was thinking that the Paladin of Good would be essentially much the same as the current LG paladin; the Paladin of Law would have turn (or maybe now censure) outsider; the Paladin of Chaos turn construct (as in Dragon) and the Paladin of Evil rebuke/control undead.
