Alternate Types of Liches?

- 3E's Mindscapes and 3.5E's Hyperconscious, both by Malhavoc, have the psionic lich template.
- Libris Mortis mentions the lich-fiend.
- Book of Exalted Deeds has the deathless type (basically a positive energy-sustained undead) and a deathless lich makes sense if you agree with the deathless type. Eberron uses the deathless type to create a lich-like creature.

It's got some very neat-o stuff to it. I personally wasn't fond of ranking each and every undead using a six-tier system, so I just created an alternative mechanism for handling salient abilities. If you'd like, I'll post my lich template here.

The Epic monster called the "Worm What Walks" is quite Lich-like.

If your going for lich like, and not just liches.. The Animus from Greyhawk is quite awe inspiring. I have a 3.5 version of it worked off the old 2nd edition stats, if you like.
