Alternative Base Attack Rules - Bonus through feats

Branduil

Hero
While doing some work on some other homebrew ideas I came up with this idea.

All characters receive a Base Attack Bonus equal to 1/2 their level, rounded down.

BASE ATTACK FOCUS [GENERAL]
You get an additional bonus to your base attack.
Prerequisites: None.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus to your BAB, in addition to the bonus granted by your level.
Special: You may take this feat multiple times. The bonus stacks; however, the total bonus from this feat may never exceed 1/2 your level, rounded up.

Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins, and Rangers get this feat as a bonus feat at first level and every two levels afterward. Bards, Clerics, Druids, Monks, and Rogues get this bonus feat at first level and every four levels afterward.

I recommend keeping the old BAB progressions for simplicities sake, and then modifying the feat so that you can never have a BAB greater than your character level. That keeps the spirit of your house rule but avoids keeping track of an excessive amount of feats.
