Alternatives to Amazon.com?

For a couple of different reasons (mostly that week long delay for free shipping and the regular shipping being too expensive) I'm looking for a good alternative to Amazon.com for books, rpgs, and the occasional game.

I've tried Buy.com, which seems to be like Amazon.com but better, but alas they apparently won't deliver to me. And their customer service sucks

I just tried Overstock.com, their prices aren't great, but they actually charge fair prices for shipping (unlike Amazon), but their customer services isn't very good, nor is their selection.

Any others?

No joke, but have you tried to find a good bookstore- not FLGS- in your vicinity?

IME, a good one- a REALLY good one- will special order things for you, even if its not available through their regular distribution channels. The best will even do so at a reasonable price.

Well, my main objective is getting stuff as cheap as possible in a timely manner. I don't make very much money. Even if I had an actual bookstore in my area (which I don't, the closest is a Barnes & Noble 20 miles away). I have yet to see an actual bookstore not charge retail price plus tax (except on bestsellers, or the stuff on the discount table), which frankly, is too much for me to afford.

And my past experiences in trying to special order stuff from a brick & mortar store have been horrible (I used to do this when I was in college, where ironically I had more money, since I was mooching off my parents, and lived in a more urban place). Weeks, usually. In one case, 6 months.
