Alternatives to Loremaster class

If you don't discard house rules, consider a variant Loremaster with the Archivist's Dark Knowledge (from heroes of horror) instead of Secrets.

That would be the individual best option suggested here, IMO.

That's pretty much exactly how he described his character - I'll have to give it some top-class scrutiny, isn't the Archivist a 20-level normal class? So ... the Dark Knowledge will probably need to be condensed and um ... twiddled with. He'll want to keep full wizard spell progression but I think the archivist has full spells like a cleric. Been a while since I wanted to make one for myself so I can't quite remember.
