Alternity, Starship Warden

I know very little about the Alternity game system or the Starship Warden setting. I understand the concept of what the Starship (world ship) is, but what kind of adventures do PCs have there?

I like D&D3 dungeon crawling, so maybe explain the game in terms comparing to that?

I'm trying to get into the proper mindset for an upcoming game in this system and setting.

(Note that I'm talking classic Metamorphosis Alpha here, I don't have the Alternity version)

The setting initially feels like classic D&D - you play barbarians living in a jungle with some strange things around you. It's only as you continue to play and discover that the outer edges of this world are the walls of the Warden that you discover that you are more than just a barbarian tribe and the world is a much stranger place.

Initially the game is much more outdoor-feeling (because most of the decks of the Warden are huge gardens), but as you learn the secrets of the Warden and it's history you will find yourself spending more time between decks and in the control sections of the Warden than in the gardens themselves.
