D&D 4E Am I the only one re-booting my 4E experience with Essentials?

Honestly, I love what I've seen so far, and if it keeps up at this rate, I'm almost tempted as a DM to "reboot" to Essentials-only (of course, keep all those nice feats and powers from the old) classes.

I feel like the Essentials classes are more focused and harken back to traditional D&D.

It's entirely possible that I might be going with an "Essentials-only" campaign in the future.

How about you?

Before I make my decision I want to see the whole finished product. I'll certainly get the essential books the one way or the other.

So far I would want to mix the new stuff with the old and toy around with even more options.

And it doesn't matter for me if 4E becomes flavorwise more like AD&D 2nd as long as it doesn't become like 2nd crunchwise.

If the 4E Essentials classes end up being considerably simpler than the previous 4E class builds, I may very well end up using 4E Essentials for one-shot evening pickup games. That is if the 4E Essentials classes are just as easy to play as the 4E PHB1 ranger.

I'm going to allow essentials as options, but I'd never do an essentials only game unless I was teaching new players (so I'd just use essentials so it was easy for them) or if every one of my players decided to play an essentials class. Even then, I would still use monsters from the "old" books as much as essentials monsters.

I'm happy with my current campaign. Not going to start over or anything but if a character dies and the player wants to try an essentials class as a replacement then they are more than welcome.

This, I can see. I'd see no need to take away all the existing options for a full campaign (though I can understand the appeal for some), but I do like the idea of being able to break out some quick and easy characters for a one-shot, and the old-school flavor of Essentials only enhances that.
