There was a core system that was used in each of the games. You created a core character that was then tailored to the specific Amazing Engine game you were playing. Any experience gained by that genre character would then be translated back to the core character - thus making any future characters more experienced.
The system wasn't half-bad - percentile-based if that floats your boat. There was a wide variety of games released for the line, but it, like a lot of non-D&D TSR releases, never really took off.
I actually liked some of the settings a lot. And the core idea was really interesting. Maybe it'll take off as a free PDF or something. Now I just need a good name for a site.
