ME too. I always thought it was because I live a mile away from an enormous Amazon warehouse. Guess I am not special....
I too have Prime and received my 5e preorders from Amazon on the day.
So, confirming my earlier statement, with the DMG released Tuesday, I received mine Thursday. That's as a non-Prime member selecting "5-8 business days" for free delivery. I also ordered a Pathfinder item and a non-game book yesterday at 5:00 pm, and received notification that they already shipped 8 hours later. Of course, I think they're really cranking on shipping this month to keep up with Christmas orders.
FYI, if you order from Amazon today (Dec 12th) and put in code "BOOKDEAL25" when you check out, you get an additional 25% off any one book. That works out to about 55% of the 5e PHB, for example.

Just noticed the DMG is #1 in Amazon Hot New Releases (Books).

The wavy paper thing goes away. Just open the book up and let it relax for a day or so. It's caused by humidity changes slightly shrinking the paper.
