Amazon.com and release dates

What gets me about Amazon is they can't get the WOTC books out on the same street date that they are in the stores. But if its the next Harry Potter book, they seem to be able to get it out on time. Whats with the inconsiticy?

I haven't bought anything from them (B&N) but I can say I like their home stores. Online I'll probably side with Dave. But honestly I do think BAMM.com works out well for purchase orders AND pre-releases.

Harry pays them more under the count. :p ;)

Even if WotC isn't artificially delaying Amazon, Amazon almost certainly has at least as many pre-orders for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as their total sales for all tabletop gaming books (in any edition of any system) combined.

My friend's B&N store had a goal of 1300 pre-orders for Harry Potter. We've got like 12 B&N's locally. 1300 is way more than they'll sale in RPG books in a year.
