I am kind of curious what happened in March 2016 that stabilized the position. Were the other dips because it went out of print, maybe?

What were the 2014 launch numbers?

The size of the player base now is so much larger than 2014 too. A much smaller percentage of fans buying 2024 will have higher totals than 2014.

One interesting phenomenon is that Amazon has not deeply discounted the 2024 PHB at any point. I think the maximum I saw off MSRP was around 10%, and now it's back down to 0.8% or so.

Which makes me suspect that Amazon sales, whatever they wind up as, have been approximately supply-constrained.

I would say that we are in the early adopter phase of 2024 rules. I think the real test will be how sales do once all 3 books and the new starter set are released.

It is interesting to see all the book quality reviews. Those seem to be the majority of complaints. I'm so used to seeing all of those glowing reviews of the 5E book. I remember that there were initial book quality errors for it, too, so perhaps everything will stabilize.

The thing is most seems to have been damaged while shipping... thats on Amazon not WotC.

Absolutely! Many of my favorite books have one-star reviews for Amazon's shipping. I'm sure we'll see a deluge of reviews shortly to get an idea of what people really think about the book.

Two of the one stars aren’t verified purchases. I wish in general Amazon didn’t let people do reviews unless they bought it there.
