I and many others have been waiting to have this book for almost two months now. I decided to e-mail amazon to see what's up. Here was my response:

Personally, I can't WAIT to finally DM this. The players have had their 1st level characters ready for weeks now... I also skim the WLD thread to see how others are enjoying it. So, if like me, you preordered the book way back when, try emailing them and see if you can get the same deal I did.

Well, at least they gave you an extra $15 bones. On the times they've screwed me, they usually just gave me updated shipping.

That's cool, working in customer service all day I know how a simple apology is often all that many people want to hear. The 15 bucks is icing...that's almost another game book!

I'm not bothered about apology discounts or the like, I just hope they don't run out before they fill all of the orders.

Yeah, the $15 bucks was unexpected. I'm glad for the apology, and I'm glad it wasn't an automated message. They actually looked into the situation, and gave an update on the book's status. I pre-ordered mine on August 17th. Dunno what order that places me in...

I also emailed them (just asking for an update on the shipping date). My response was sort of a "toned-down" version of yours. Mine will ship: (1) around Nov. 19 (instead of a few business days), (2) with two day shipping (instead of one-day shipping), and (3) no $15 apology. They actually said:

our supplier has not been able to let us know exactly
when they expect to have more in stock.

So, you might not get yours in "a few business days."

I really hate getting different answers to the same question.

Yeah, I noticed that the date changed to November 3rd on mine. Which is fine. So long as I get it. When did you order yours, by the way?

Interesting. I have not (yet) e-mailed them, and my ship/delivery dates still indicate August.

I ordered on Aug. 17, so I'll e-mail them on Oct. 18 and ask what the deal is.

I ordered on Aug. 18. My order now says it will ship on Nov. 17
