An Apology....

I think in the last few years the level of "political correctness", or repressive desire not to offend, has most definately gotten out of hand. I think this is yet another highly dissapointing overreaction. Oh well.

This whole issue has reminded me of a fascinating article published by Game Critics as part of their E3 2004 coverage. It is an article in which the author goes about E3 on the last day of the show and talks to some of the "booth babes" and gets a little peek of their perspective. For me it was a really interesting opportunity to take a look at the whole convention thing through a new set of eyes - a lot to think about! Here's the article...

Wow, that's something. The author of the article has the same name as my daughter -- every once in a while it's weird to find someone else with a name you know. Just pointing out the obviousl.

What troubles me is THIS thread. Is it now legal to start threads discussing closed topics?

Excellent point.

And the moral is...heavy-handed moderation sometimes causes more problems than it solves. Thus endeth the lesson, biyotches!

It certainly does. This isn't one of those times. The poll had three or four things against it, so closed it went. I don't regret it for a minute. A female-started poll for "studs of GenCon" would have suffered the same fate, so folks twitching about political correctness don't have much of a leg to stand on. Sorry, gang - that's the way it is.

You guys should have seen the photo of Teflon Billy in a thong I deleted. Holy cow.

Klunk.
