Which of the several... Warlord threads are rather common on here , There was recently One using Monks chassis one to use the Fighter foundation (with some versatility upgrades) primarily because people voted the fighter would be a good chassis, which in spite of me being skeptical I find myself coming back to.What, did that other Warlord project that everyone was working on together a couple weeks ago die off already?
I like your foundations
The Tactical Warlord may still be my favorite because "reasons" and I have played it but I am fast itching to play a Bravura.
The Icon/Standard Bearer/Noble (heart aspect) aka Prince(ss) Build aka Lazylord will always have a fond place in my heart
Bravura ideas.
Chieftains Warcry (inspires allies to Berserker frenzy)
Lot's of solid work here. A few thoughts:
1. Symphony of Battle and Delegation are too close to each other given that the latter will often make the former irrelevant. Alternatively having the Delegation give some other boost under the equivalent circumstances as a) it is a level 20 ability so if it stacks to be a little OP it's not a huge issue, and b) whether it is ever useful is pretty play style and DM reading dependant.
2. Not to seriously criticize the style of what is clearly a provisional write-up, but I think Inspiration should be renamed, because it is already confusing having both DM granted Inspiration and Bardic Inspiration,
The "able to take advantage" in Symphony of battle is also problematic wording given that Advantage is a major term of art in the game.
3. I love having any use for mental stats other than magic and skill checks, so kudos to all the subclasses.
4. I get that it is a capital S support class, but it still has way more buff others and not yourself abilities than any other class. I'd make the Warlord themself a valid target/beneficiary for most the abilities.
One could give a General Warcry which allows the Warlord to Share his initiative value with allies who have a worse value.Bravura ideas.
Chieftains Warcry (inspires allies to Berserker frenzy)
In the Battlemaster Idea I was thinking of allowing a maneuver to share a maneuver you know as a meta-maneuver. So whatever style the Warlord has whether Bravura or whatever they inspire their allies in the fashion of what they do.I'm currently going with a warcry 1/long rest that for the next five minutes lets people gain advantage until the start of next turn on attack rolls at the cost of enemies attacking them also having advantage until the start of their next turn (may decide every turn).
If you mean my thread (the Marshal), I just updated it the other day, and I will be posting a new update with rough subclass drafts this week. What, did that other Warlord project that everyone was working on together a couple weeks ago die off already?
