D&D 5E An Orcs(or Goblin)-ploitation Urban Campaign

A non-race way to get a "wrong side of the tracks" part of town would be to look at the pre-Potato Famine Irish in America: a LOT of young men, very few families or 'wise elder' types. Most individuals feel like they are alone against the world; the exceptions have a family / church / guild that can help them out in a pinch ... a little, because their resources are limited too. They all came here from somewhere else - a different 'somewhere else' for each individual. Without relatives or contacts in the city, you start on the ground floor and figure out 'The Rules', both written and unwritten, to get ahead in life.

I think the real issue here is the use of the term "orcsploitation". An urban campaign where the heroes are all members of one or more marginalized groups within that campaign setting is a great premise for a campaign as far as it goes, and need not intrinsically have much to do with any real world issues, beyond drawing upon elements common to the experience of marginalized groups in urban spaces.

But if my DM described the next campaign as being "orcsploitation", that's a little too evocative of "blacksploitation, but with orcs". I'm going to think the idea is for me to roll up Orc Shaft and try to come up with the silliest D&D equivalent of calling someone a "jive turkey".

I really had a problem trying to define the pitch in a few words for a subject, so Orcploitation was the best thing to come up with. But Orc Shaft is definitely an option to go along with the idea.

The "jive turkey" thing has got me thinking we need some words added to the vernacular that Urban Goblins or Orcs might use. Only thing I got so far is "Humie" which is sort of a derogatory term for Humans.

Though as for ideas and sources, various immigrant communities of all sorts through out history and anywhere can be the idea, it's not just marginalized minorities in modern day America.
