[Ancient-Awakenings Publications] Valley of Frozen Tears

mroberon1972

First Post
Enter the Valley of Frozen Tears, where nigh-impassible mountains surround a primeval land of both magic and terror. From the gateway city of Icewall to the scattered human villages of the forests and hills, mankind struggles to survive against the valley's deadly winters and vicious predators. Worse still, the hated blackblood orcs also dwell in the valley. These terrible monsters raid village after village, only to fade into the mountains when opposed with superior force.
But mankind has allies as well. The druids and rangers of the Compact have promised to protect the people of this land as best they can. But what is the Compact, and what dark secret does it hold?

The Valley of Frozen Tears is a drop-in setting for any fantasy RPG world.

This setting will contain everything you need to play in the valley, including nearly a dozen new monsters native to the area and a full history of the region.

For a preview of the cover art (currently in production by our cover artist, Philip D Kearney) go to http://www.ancient-awakenings.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=1

This product will be in both print and PDF.

In addition, a series of three modules based in this mini-setting are in the design phase.

Stay tunes for further updates, and a preview showing both interior art and a sample monster.

This sounds very interesting. Is this something I can simply drop into the mountains up north in my campaign for a cold weather adventure or two?

Anyway, thanks for the preview. I'm looking forward to it.

Hmnnn, a reply within 20 minutes on a sunday...

Wasn't expecting anything that fast...

Yes, it's a drop-in setting that can be placed in any subarctic area. The section map that comes with it shows the pass in the NE section of the map, but the effort it takes to place that in the SE is minimal...

Overall, it is a self contained setting that allows it to be placed bordering any current campaign setting (hopefully in a mountain range...).

It refers to all things happening outside the valley as 'the kingdoms' for insert-your-name-here ease of use.

It will also come with basic NPC stats for off-the-cuff characters, random encounter charts, equipment common to the region, and anything else we can come up with.

Thanks again for the info! I think I'll place this setting somewhere in the Wilderlands. It sounds great and I can't wait until I can get my hands on it. I'm excited!
