First Post
Well, I've finally done it...

After taking some time to kick its wheels and spin it around, Ancient Awakenings is open for business. I'm hoping to see some of you guys come by and try out the message boards.

I have also posted my stories on the message boards. They will be posted there from now on so that I don't have to repost constantly.

Any comments/advice from those of you who have sites of your own would be deeply appreciated.

I also want to thank EN World for the use of its news link system. It works great!

Seems pretty cool. Will you be adding different types of content or leaving it with the sections it now has?

Also, it looks like GeekLog architecture. Is that so? If it is, you did a good job formatting it for ease of use and clarity.

Actually, PostNuke Php...

Actually, PostNuke Php...

I'm also using the board plugin from PHPBB... It was a mild pain, since I had to debug the message boards to allow user groups. But now it seems fixed, and I have seen no further bugs.

Overall, I'm fairly certain that the system is stable, but can't be sure until I begin getting hit by a few new users logging in.

D'oh, I missed the bottom text where it says it uses PostNuke . Let us know how that works out for stability and such!

I am looking for a message board or board-like solution that will
1) let me set users as one of any number of custom user levels, and
2) restrict read rights and separately, post rights, based on which thread or sub-forum they are trying to access, based on which user level I set someone at.

I've been using AvidGamers, but they can be incredibly slow much of the time and crash on and off all the time. Great service, but I now need something better :)

EDIT - Sorry for hijacking the thread. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread topic.

Log on and register for me, and I'll let you know all you want. If your service providor allows php scripts, I'll even setup a copy of the board settings for you with a copy of the fixed files.

Let me know if you think the registration system works OK.

"Whoa! How many lines of code?"

Drawmack was the first...

Drawmack was the first person to post on the messageboards on my new site yesterday. Welcome Drawmack!

Strangly, the web server seemed to gave died last night. When I checked with them this morning, they advise they were installing new routers.

Everything seems fine now...

Thanks to all those who visited. Any opinions?

Mr. Oberon
"You shut off my site on its first day to install ROUTERS???"
