Hrmmmm...
Strong start. Made me feel kinda hollow by the end. Not sure what went wrong...
For myself, it felt like Angel and Spike were too silly, not acting like they should have. Add to that the creation of "the immortal", which is just another bad plot device, no continuity, just toss him in and then drop him out. For someone so "powerful" he has had little impact on the world, especially given his supposed neutrality. Linking Buffy with him was assinine IMO.
Peak? One particular word from a glowing guest star followed by a well placed expletive.
IMHO....
Seeing the small role, I can understand why SMG didn't do the show. What's the point?
And, wasn't Andrew a big change from his role earlier this season? There hasn't been that much time really, but now he's totally different (before and after his "change") I kind of hoped they revealed it was the Immortal in disguise, but no, it was just... pointless.
So, this episode went no where. There was supposed to be an "understanding" between Spike & Angel, but I didn't see it. From my perspective they're identical to how they started the episode.
They didn't totally gloss over the Baby Sacrifice, but they still didn't seem to build on it. Angel seemed totally as he was before last episode, not more Evil, or Scheming, or anything.
Only redeeming quality for me was Illyria. I'm still peeved that they reduced her power, but she's really messing with Wes, and I like that. It's obvious Wes has power over her too, so it's fun. Wes sure was cleaned up compared to last ep though.
