Angels and petrification

It is interesting that devils and demons are immune to poison. Maybe the inability to partake is one of the special torments of the lower planes?

Nope. 'Outsiders' don't have any automatic immunities.

'Angels' do get a +4 bonus vs. poisons, but that's as good as it gets.


Mind you, I had to chuckle at the alcohol and drugs point.

Why are angels and archons immune to petrification?

Not entirely sure, but I've got a set of 13 (now 12) petrified angels and archons in my campaign. I figure that if a creature can lower it's spell resistance, an angel or archon could lower their immunity to petrification, should they want to.

Would you let a Fire Elemental lower its immunity to fire damage? How about a devil?

I would answer yes to all of those. It would be exceedingly rare, and they'd have to have good reason, but I certainly would allow that.
