Animal Affinity

Does anything stop a pc with the animal affinity power from using it mutliple times over the course of several rounds to boost different abilities? It's a cheaper way to do so than augmenting it, though slower; so far I'm inclined to say it's okay, but would like feedback on it.

Thanks in advance!

There is nothing to stop you from doing that. I think the only reason why the augment is there is in case you are surprised and need to buff in a hurry.

Yep, in the context of powers covering a lot more area than spells, animal affinity seems pretty fair, really, if you see the augmentation as a speed increase only.

We used to see that all the time.

At it's most ferocious was in 3.0, where our Psychic Warrior had the Trigger Power feat linked to Animal Affinity. First he'd bump up his Strength, so he'd have a better chance of making the roll to trigger the power for free. Then he'd do all his other stats. Bloody guy would wander around with all 6 stats cranked every day typically for the cost of manifesting the power once or twice.

But that's a problem of Trigger Power mostly. ;)

In 3.0 Animal Affinity was a bit too good, but in 3.5 with the much lower duration, it's not as bad.

Except for that small, small cost of three feats? and still having to do this quite a few times to get the benefits of a few magical items. Items that arent terribly expensive later on (since few characters need high stats in all 6 it is even less relevant to say he needs the +4 item in the 6 stats).

Sounds perfectly fine. Trigger power was a nice feat, too bad it is gone now :(

oh, and of course the animal affinities can be applied to different stats and all work, they are effecting different things ;)
