Well, given from how you described your current situation in your first post, I think I find Frank's advice to be quite sound. It is painfully obvious that both you and your DM have vastly different gaming styles that have come into conflict with each other on multiple occasions. It is quite often the little things that make a relationship what it is, and if all the crap he does bugs you, then leave and find a group of folks where that isn't a factor.

There, that isn't so hard, is it, to give an opinion without an oblique attack?

I tend to run with the spells/rules as written. He tends to try to change spells and rules when he thinks they are overpowered (should have seen his face when my 1600 lb Brown Bear got Animal Growth'd to 8 times mass and jumped on a bad guy from 50ft up, and he saw the rules of falling objects damage in the DMG...). I don't even apply erratas most of the time (yes, +8 Str Righteous Might...).

And I am fairly certain that he is pretty unused to high level play, which is why he views many spells as being overpowered. But that is another story.

Right now, I am here to hear why PAO cannot be applied to familiar and animal companions and special mounts as buff spells without them going haywire on you.

Why no Mr. Kettle, it wasn't. I was just elaborating on the first response you got. You chose to ignore that bit and start arguing about rules and whatnot. If you come for an opinion (and seeing how no one here wrote the rule in question that is generally going to be what you get), automatically discounting them and then insulting the people who give them isn't going to get you very far.

Come with a argumentative attitude and sure, I'm pretty sure you're going to see the bee-stung wolverines come out to answer. Granted, I don't post a whole lot here, but I've had nothing but cordial dealings with the few members that take the time to offer their take on things. At least this thread didn't go on a horribly un-related tangent about a) power attack and it's brokenness, b) vampire monks level-draining with flurry of blows or b) power attacking vampire monks level draining with flurry of blows. Count yourself lucky.

Let us just say that I didn't start it, and leave it at that, Mr Pot.

I asked for opinion on the rules, not what some knee-jerk reactions and vengeful "what I would do to screw you over" mayhem. I am happy to discuss rules, not waste-of-time emotions.

As for the whole tangent thing, you are making EN World sound even less mature and more clique-ish than the WotC boards. I wonder how true that is, because being worse than bad is really, really bad...
